“I remember my mother's prayers and they have always
followed me. They have clung to me all my life.”

 - Abraham Lincoln
(12 Feb 1809 - 15 Apr 1865)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

We're remembering our mothers today - as we try to do every year. I could find no midi file for today's song (and I personally could not hear it even if I had been able to do so), but the lyrics (printed below, as always) were simply too good to ignore, so just watch the bonus video:

Have a great day.

Jennings

Thank you so much, Jennings! I saw this listing early this morning and spent a good hour trying to determine which class was hers. Not finding her senior portrait in either the February or June '42 Beacons, and not owning either of the '43 yearbooks, I was never able to do so. My sympathies to you on the loss of your schoolmate.

From My Friend, Susan, of NC - 05/08/15:

“There is no one perfect way to be a good mother. Each situation is unique. Each mother has different challenges, different skills and abilities, and certainly different children. The choice is different and unique for each mother and each family... What matters is that a mother loves her children deeply and, in keeping with the devotion she has for God and her husband, prioritizes them above all else.

- M. Russell Ballard, April, 2008
(b. 08 Oct 1928)

    Thanks so much, Susan!

I'm sitting here, I'm thinking back to a time when I was young,
My memory is clear as day, I'm listening to the dishes clink,
You were downstairs; you would sing songs of praise,
And all the times we laughed with you,
And all the times that you stayed true to us,
Now we say, I said, I thank you,
I'll always thank you,
More than you could know,
Than I could ever show,
And I love you, I'll always love you,
There's nothing I won't do to say these words to you,
That you're beautiful forever,
You were my mom,
You were my dad,
The only thing I ever had was you, It's true,
And even when the times got hard you were there,
To let us know that we'd get through, you showed me how to be a man,
You taught me how to understand the things people do,
You showed me how to love my God,
You taught me that not everyone knows the truth,
And I thank you,
I'll always thank you,
More than you could know,
Than I could ever show,
And I love you, I'll always love you,
There's nothing I won't do to say these words to you,
That you will live forever, always
