Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

   We have still another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter today.  Carolyn Bradley Burns, Class of 19__, wife of Bobby Burns ('58) of VA, passed away on Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009 at the age of 65.  Her siblings include Helen Bradley Miller of VA, Linda Bradley Carson of VA; and Bobby Bradley of VA.

Please put this on the prayer list as Bobby Burns' ('58) wife, Carolyn, has suffered a heart attack and is hospitalized in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

I received the email below from Bobby Burns who graduated with me in '58.  Carolyn is his wife.
 
You may have already been notified of this - but just in case you have not, thought you could add her to our prayer list.

Carolyn suffered a heart attack yesterday at home.

Carolyn is in Memorial Regional Hospital in Mechanicsville. She is in a coma. Our Family asks you to pray for her recovery.

  Dear Friends,

My Family and I wish to THANK YOU for taking the time to include my wife Carolyn and our Family in your thoughts and prayers.

Today at 11:01 A.M., The LORD took his child Carolyn, my beautiful wife, and Mother and Grandmother, to be with him. Carolyn has no pain nor is she suffering. Lord, how we tried to heal her body, however, it was not in the Master's plan.

To honor Carolyn's wishes, Her Celebration of LIFE will be private.

NEW KENT - Carolyn Bradley Burns, 65, devoted wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother, died April 14, 2009.

Carolyn was born in Newport News, Va., and attended Newport News High School. She will be remembered for her generosity and selfless love of family.

Preceding her in death were her mother and father, Vera and Loyd Bradley.

She leaves behind her husband and soul mate of 49 years, Robert Leslie Burns; her daughter, Robin Burns Perry and her husband, Kevin of Chester; her daughter, Cynthia Burns Flannery and her husband, Todd of Williamsburg; her daughter, Leslie Burns Vogel and husband, Van also of Williamsburg; four grandchildren, Emily and Erin Perry, Conor Flannery and Robert Garrett Vogel; her sisters, Helen Miller of Gloucester and Linda Carson of Newport News; and her brother, Bobby Bradley of Williamsburg.
 

  
 
 
 

A private memorial service will be held Friday, April 17, 2009, at Vincent Funeral Home in Providence Forge.
