sister
Eleanor Buckley Nowitzky ('59 -

and our cousin
Cheryl White Wilson
(John Marshall HS - '64 - of VA) are driving out for a much postponed and
long overdue visit. We have convinced them to stay until Monday, April 26.
There shall be much rejoicing and raucous laughter!
Beyond Memorial Editions, any work that is accomplished by me during that week
will be purely accidental.

Hi, It’s Maeeee!
I am counting the minutes!
..... BTW – 16 April is Charlie Chaplin’s Birthday - 1849 and 18 April 1775 – Paul Revere’s ride (‘case you didn’t know that).
I feel so honored that everyone is going to such lengths to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. I just love it!!!
I must go now and practice laughing…………………….
Love,
Cheryl
WILD GIGGLES!!!
Don't practice TOO hard, Cheryl! You're going to need a lot of it left over when

From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL - 04/15/10 -
"From the sister (
Nancy Lavender Clarke - NNHS / Andrew Lewis HS, Salem -
'67 - of FL)
of the late
Richard Lavender.":
Hi, Carol:
You will probably get a bit
emotional when you read the following message from Richard
Lavender's sister.
Here is what she sent to me:
|
||
Hi Joe! This communication has been a bit of an emotional rollercoaster for me. I never knew much about my brothers growing up because I went to a children’s home when I was 8. I didn’t see Dickie again until I was in my late teens and he looked out for me much like a father. I didn’t even know he played basketball in high school until one of my half sisters told me about it!
I’m enclosing some pictures of
him as promised - even one when he was 4 in Newport News! |
Name: Richard Wallace Lavender
Born: 05/20/1938 Died: 09/23/1981 Cause of death: Lung Cancer Location: Lake Worth, Florida |

Richard Lavender | |||||
The dates seem a bit off, but that’s all I can find in my files. I don’t have Dickie’s death certificate as I do for most of the rest of the family who has passed on.
Maybe someday you can tell me more about my big brother.
Thank you!
Nancy Clarke
Thank you so very
much, Joe - and Nancy!
Based on his birth date, I placed Richard in the Class of 1956, and added these images to their In Memoriam page as well as to Famous Airmen:
http://nnhs65.com/memoriam-all.html
http://nnhs65.com/memoriam56.html
http://nnhs65.com/famous-airmen.html
And as usual,
you were absolutely correct about my reaction, Adonis!
While I was updating Famous Airmen, I added
(at long last) Paul's cousin,
S.E. Lewis, Jr. (Central High
School, Cape Girardeau, MO - '64) of MI.
Speaking of Paul..... |
From My Husband, Paul Harty (Bardolph HS, IL - '61) of IL - 04/15/10 -

From Mark Hutcherson ('66) of
VA
- 04/15/10 - " Would you remarry??":
A husband and wife are
sitting quietly in bed reading when the wife looks over at him and asks
the question.... WIFE: "What would you do if I died? Would you get married again?" HUSBAND: "Definitely not!" WIFE: "Why not? Don't you like being married?" HUSBAND: "Of course I do.." WIFE: "Then why wouldn't you remarry? " HUSBAND: "Okay, okay, I'd get married again." WIFE: "You would?" (with a hurt look) HUSBAND: (makes audible groan) WIFE: "Would you live in our house?" HUSBAND: "Sure, it's a great house." WIFE: "Would you sleep with her in our bed?" HUSBAND: "Where else would we sleep?" WIFE: "Would you let her drive my car?" HUSBAND: "Probably, it is almost new." WIFE: "Would you replace my pictures with hers?" HUSBAND: "That would seem like the proper thing to do." WIFE: "Would you give her my jewelry?" HUSBAND: "No, I'm sure she'd want her own." WIFE: "Would you take her golfing with you? HUSBAND: "Yes, those are always good times." WIFE: "Would she use my clubs? HUSBAND: "No, she's left-handed." WIFE:-- silence -- HUSBAND: "@#$%."

68% will
send this on...
Should be a 100%
BET YOU'LL SEND IT!!
I PLEDGE
ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,
ONE NATION UNDER GOD,
INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
I was asked to send this on if I agree, or delete if I don't.
It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is
such a problem in having 'In God! We Trust' on our money and
having 'God' in the Pledge of Allegiance.
I believe it's time we stand up for what we believe!
If you agree, pass this on, if not, delete.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!
Thank
you, Glenn - I DO agree!
