04/12/05 - NNHS Newsletter -
"Dance light, for my heart it lies
under your feet, love."

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
That's right -
this is another Magic Shower song. In fact, my Magic Shower seems to sing
this song to me two or three
times a week.
There will be a
slight pause here for my Wet Noodle. I cannot believe (well, okay, yes,
I can) that I forgot to include these
two birthdays on yesterday's Newsletter:
Brownie Shaffer Haracivet ('62)
of the Virgin Islands and Susan Avent Hill ('66).
I am sooo
sorry! Happy Belated Birthday to both Brownie and Susan! May we
have a round of "A Very Merry Unbirthday
to YOU"?
And lest I
forget what I'm doing again, Happy Birthday tomorrow to Gil Hughes ('64)
and on Thursday to Linda DeShazo
Hatchett (’65) of VA.

Thanks, Dave!
Mmmmm - I can
hardly wait to go dancing again!

"Dance like no one is watching.
Sing like no one is listening. Love like you've never been hurt and live

- Mark Twain
From Dave Arnold ('65) of VA - 04/11/05:
Thanks, Dave!
Considering that he technically died twice on Friday, Miles is doing pretty
well. I conveyed your thoughts
to Eleanor, and she much appreciated them.
Thanks for solving Gloria's mystery for her! I'm sure she'll be happy to know that, too!
"We should consider every day lost on
which we have not danced at least once. And we should call
every truth false which was not accompanied by at least one laugh.
--Friedrich Nietzsche
From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL - 04/10/05:
AHA! Another vote for the 24th Street Church connection!
David is a Master Sleuth
along with his many other talents. He never ceases to amaze me. I'm
really going to vicariously
enjoy it as ya'll are able to reconnect!
Thanks, Adonis!
"For yesterday and for all tomorrows, we dance the best we know."
- Kate Seredy
From Gloria Woolard Price ('Hampton HS - '65) of FL - 04/10/05:
Well, Gloria, it seems we have two definite votes for the 24th Street Church of Christ! Thanks!
And we always enjoy posting gorgeous images!

From Raoul Weinstein ('57) of FL - 04/10/05:
Hi Carol,
Wow -- there is so much to your newsletter I
can't find the time to read all of the good stuff. You do a great
job. I noticed the name of Elliot Finkle, '58, mentioned as having
purchased the CD set. I'd love to make
contact with him. Can you help me? Also, can you put a blurb in your newsletter
somewhere about June 18,
2005, 8PM-Midnight, the date of the 19th Annual "Almost World Famous" Sertoma
Sock Hop in Lakeland,
FL,
for anybody around this part of the country that wants to come listen and dance
to the fabulous 45's
from the
50's and 60's and help in our fundraiser for the Central Florida Speech and
Hearing Center, and where
I am
the DJ and leader of our "famous" lip-synch group, The Weakspots. Our ladies
group, The Put-Outs, will also
be entertaining. It's a fun evening, my DJ
station is in NNHS gold and blue colors, and I always wear my old
NNHS
letter sweater which I proudly acknowledge never having had cleaned in all these
years!! It would be fun if some
NNHS grads (could be there with us).
WOWZERONI!!! How cool it that?!?
Thanks so much,
Raoul! I personally have had no contact with Elliot. I know that
both Dave Spriggs ('64) and Joe Drewry ('58)
have, though. Gentlemen, do you have an email address for Raoul?
Now, back to our
exciting story. We have a sizable number of Floridians in our midst.
What an opportunity for y'all!!! If I were you,
I'd clear my calendars immediately, and move Heaven and Earth and whatever else
was necessary to get to this shindig!!! That
literally sounds almost too good to be true!!! I'm drooling all over my
keyboard here.
Oh, I want
pictures from this! Y'all pack your digi-cameras and get ready for the
time of your life!!!
From Sarah Puckett Kressaty ('65) of VA - 04/10/05:
I'm sorry to say
I do not have any information on Miss Jane, Sarah Sugah. Perhaps someone
else will know. And as
for Whatshisface, I just can't seem to recall right now.
Thanks, Miss
Sarah!
From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL to Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 04/10/05:
I certainly hope y'all are able to reconnect with him, Adonis! How special that will be! Thanks - and thanks again, Dave!
From Chuck Anspach ('60) of VA - 04/12/05:
Hi Carol,
First I want to tell you how much I enjoy your
newsletters and the
website. I
was in the 1960 class and was
wondering if you have heard of a 45 year reunion
this year for the class of 1960?
Thanks again,
Charles (Chuck) Anspach
OH, my goodness! No, I haven't, Chuck! We've had many questions, but no answers that I've heard. Fred? Steve? Anyone???
I'll tell you
what, Chuck. If nothing transpires, just come to '65's Reunion in October.
It'll be way cool, and it's open to all classes.
In fact, come to our Reunion even if the Class of 1960 has their own as well,
We should all attend as many of these reunions
as possible, The times are magical and just should not be missed!
Thanks, Chuck!

Sheila (Smith) Moler 64
Brenda Williams
Thanks, Brenda!
It's always good to hear from you! Sheila joined us several weeks ago (Hi,
Sheila!), but I've no idea of Nancy's
whereabouts.
"Anyone? Anyone?"
Y'all have a good day - and take care of each other! TYPHOONS FOREVER!
Love to all, Carol

I Don't Know Why I Love You Like I Do
(Words by Roy Turk, Music by Fred E. Ahlert – 1931)
From the Film: Faithful In My
Fashion, 1946
All day long you're asking me what I see in you
All day long I'm answering but what good does it do?
I have nothing to explain
I just love you, love you, and I'll tell you once again
I don't know why I love you like I do
I don't know why, I just do
I don't know why you thrill me like you do
I don't know why, you just do
You never seem to want my romancing
The only time you hold me is when we're dancing
I don't know why I love you like I do
I don't know why, I just do
You never seem to want my romancing
The only time you hold me is when we're dancing
I don't know why I love you like I do
I don't know why, I just do
