| "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" is a lighthearted song in
tribute to Ireland.
Its lyrics were written by
Chauncey Olcott and
George Graff,
Jr., set to music composed by
Ernest Ball, for
Olcott's production of
The Isle O' Dreams, and Olcott sang the song in the show. It was
first published in 1912, at a time when songs in tribute to a
romanticized Ireland were very numerous and popular both in Britain and
the United States. During the First World War the famous tenor
John McCormack recorded the song. The song continued to be a familiar standard for generations. Decades later it was used as the opening song on the radio show Duffy's Tavern. The song has been recorded on over 200 singles and albums and by many famous singers, including Bing Crosby, Connie Francis, and Roger Whittaker.[1] |

| POST-STROKE UPDATE on Bobby Johnson ('66 /'67) of VA: Bobby was sent to Riverside Rehab Center today to start his recovery, and will be there for 4 to 6 weeks. His blood pressure is normal and he is expecting a complete recovery. He said to tell everyone thanks for the well wishes. who will be completing her eighteen-month mission for

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Seattle, Washington.
She will be flying into St. Louis on Tuesday, March 26.We'll visit some with family in Missouri and Illinois, and at the moment we're thinking of returning home by Friday, April 5. My access to the internet will probably be non-existent during this time, so we will miss celebrating the First day of Passover, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and the Last day of Passover together this year. If y'all could watch the obituaries on the Daily Press for those two weeks and send any relevant obituaries to me, I'd really appreciate it, as I doubt I'll be able to locate them upon my return. Any volunteers?? Thanks

Usually the female is
featured, but here the young man steals the show - his legs are like
liquid magic. God bless her heart, she lets him shine. He's 17 and she's
only 15. But together, they won the 2012 Junior Division National
Carolina Shag Dancing Championships.

Bunch gatherings on the first Thursday of every month at
Steve & John's Steak House on Jefferson Avenue just above
Denbigh Boulevard in Newport News at 11:00 AM. The luncheon
is not limited to just the Class of '55; if you have friends
in that year, go visit with them.
2. Wednesday, April 10, 2013 - The NNHS Class of June 1942 meets at noon on the second Wednesday of every other month for a Dutch treat lunch at the James River Country Club, 1500 Country Club Road.
