A friend of mine, Willa,
is having surgery tomorrow, for a rotator cuff and ligament tear. If you include her tonight in your prayers I would appreciate it. Her surgery was initially scheduled for the 23rd, and she got a phone call this morning asking if they could reschedule her instead the 19th. Thank you, Shari

Patricia Eken Miller ('66)":
Patty lives in Hampton! Sorry
I left that out!
AHA!
I was pretty
certain that you had told me that several months ago, but you know my
penchant for "moving" people around the country! I amended all those previous postings and added Patty to the Contact page for her class: http://nnhs65.com/SITE-MAP.html |
A little humor for all us old geezers... This is from one of the guys I worked with at WQRK, Norfolk back in the seventies. He lives at The Beach again, but it's just a coincidence he mentions "Ocean View". I don't remember going into any bars / restaurants at Ocean View, although there was that place on the water right where the Bridge Tunnel meets Willoughby Spit ( "King Neptune's"? ) and at the other end of Ocean View Boulevard ( Is that the street? Once again, the memory fails... ) was "Blackbeard's", or was that "The Jolly Roger"... I'm hearing Bob Calvert's voice on WGH saying "and Saturday night, it's Tidewater's Big Deal... Bill Deal and the Rhondels...playing at the Jolly Roger..." so I get even more confused. Some of the rest of you might remember Ocean View in your wilder days. Although, Sharon, I always suspected you were more of a "Blue Lite" in Newport News girl, anyway... But Phil's joke was pretty funny to read, and the second reason I go anywhere in LaGrange is because of the hired help. The first reason is... is... uh.. is because.. umm.. Oh, never mind.

Speaking of adorable..... |
From David Whitley ('67) of VA -
03/10/10 - "Oh my... I actually find this funny!
(#1 in a Series of 9)":
What to do when really bored...
1. Kill a few flies
2. Put them in the sun to dry for one hour.
3. Once they are dry, pick a pencil and paper... Let your imagination flow.
Here are a few

On My Own
- Lyrics
by
Alain Boublil;
Music by
Claude-Michel Schönberg,
Les Misérables (1980)
(Lea
Salonga)
And now I'm all alone again
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to.
Without a home, without a friend
without a face to say hello to
But now the night is near
And I can make-believe he's here
Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping
I think of him and then I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping
The city goes to bed
And I can live inside my head
On my own
Pretending he's beside me
All alone
I walk with him 'til morning
Without him, I feel his arms around me
And when I lose my way, I close my eyes and he has found me
In the rain
The pavement shines like silver
All the lights are misty in the river
In the darkness, the trees are full of starlight
And all I see is him and me forever and forever
And I know it's only in my mind
That I'm talking to myself and not to him
And although I know that he is blind
Still I say there's a way for us
I love him
But when the night is over
He is gone
The river's just a river
Without him, the world around me changes
The trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers
I love him
But every day I'm lonely
All my life I've only been pretending
Without me, his world will go on turning
The world is full of happiness that I have never known
I love him
I love him
I love him...
But only on my own...
(sniffle)
