Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
If you're not really Irish today, then just pretend! Wherever you go and whatever you do, May the luck of the Irish be there with you.

Tom Norris (Hampton HS - '73) |
..... Anyway, I've been busier than a cat covering up doo-doo in a rocking chair full of whistling graveyards. Or something like that. No, wait, it was "a bird in the egg is not worth counting your bush full of chickens". Yeah, that was it. I love those old sayings.....
David Darlin', you are the funniest man I've ever known! I've never
a clue what on earth you're saying, but I'm always
too busy delightedly laughing to mind! Thanks for the fun, Sweetie!
And oh, yes - the old photo is precious; you're both
perfectly gorgeous! I'm sure Tommee will love it!
Right, Babe?

(By the way, this card sold last night on eBay for $10.49 plus postage! YOW!!!)
From Gloria Woolard Price (Hampton HS - ’65) - 03/17/05:
Carol, since you mentioned Bing Gatewood, I knew him because I went
with his cousin Alex, for two years!!
Alex was a Stuart Gardens boy before
moving to Chesapeake Avenue. Alex attended NNHS, but
didn’t
graduate in ‘65……went into the Marine Reserves instead. My two girlfriends
and I (HHS, ’65) dated NNHS
guys. Sally Everett married Skip Walker ('64), and Joyce
Peede married Buddy Hart. I’m sure you knew
them. I saw that Skip passed away. Where’s Buddy? Alex eventually married a
classmate of mine . They live
in Poquoson, and I heard he was not in
good health, but thankfully, has greatly
improved and back to work.
Gloria (Woolard) Price (HHS/’65)
Thanks, Gloria!
Yes, I knew both Skippy and Buddy. I do not know where Buddy is now, but
I'm sure someone else
might have that information for you.
However, I do
have two or three surprises for you. Alex Gatewood was in my third and
fourth grade classes
at Magruder School:
From Dee Hodges Bartram ('66) of VA - 03/16/05:
Thanks, Dee!
I finally ditched the nasty flu, thanks. I would have thought the funny
mind games with the resulting Bozo
Bloopers would have stopped by now, but Dave Spriggs ('64 - of VA) gently
pointed out another one to me which was
so outrageous, I just.... oh, well, maybe this is just The New Me. Sigh.
And I trust that you have beaten that vicious illness as well, Dee - thanks again! (And thanks, David!)
From Sarah Puckett Kressaty ('65) of VA - 03/16/05:
That's RIGHT, Sarah Sugah - thanks! WILD GIGGLES!!!

GIGGLES! Thanks, Shari!
An Irish Prayer
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
From Sarah Puckett Kressaty ('65) of VA - 03/16/05:
Well,
Miss Sarah, I don't know if you and Rip were able to resolve that problem, but I
suppose you could always just
send your little baby-loves the URL and let them click it themselves:

OHHH, David! Aren't these cute?!? Thanks so much!
From Mike Miller ('65) of NC - 03/17/05:
Hi, Sweetie! You're welcome - and thank you!
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
Y'all have a good day - and take care of each other!
TYPHOONS FOREVER!
Love to all, Carol

St. Patrick's Day
Music and lyrics by H. P. Danks
Long years ago, when but a child,
I rambled o'er the soft green turf,
Or lingered 'mid the rocky wild,
And watched the fierce Atlantic's surf,
When all the future tinged with gold
To me seemed bright and gay,
Twas then, from lips now still and cold,
I learned to love Saint Patrick's Day.
Chorus:
When all the future tinged with gold
To me seemed bright and gay,
Twas then, from lips now still and cold,
I learned to love Saint Patrick's Day.
Though Erin now is not my home,
My heart still holds her mem'ry dear,
And when the first bright Spring days come,
To gladden each suceeding year,
I see again my native shore,
And almost hear the piper play,
As fancy paints the scene once more
O'er some long past Saint Patrick's Day.
Chorus
There comes to mind a lovely face,
That looked from out the low thatch'd cot,
And with a sweet, untutor'd grace,
Gave what my soul hath ne'er forgot~
True Irish girl, thou Nature's queen~
Oh how the long years speed away,
Since with a sigh, my own Colleen,
We parted one Saint Patrick's Day.
Chorus
In every clime beneath the sky,
The proud, though exiled, Celt is seen,
In honor for his flag to die,
But ever loyal to the Green:
Thus while Columbia well I love,
And keep the "Fourth" and hope I may,
I'll ne'er forget where e'er I rove,
To celebrate Saint Patrick's Day.
Chorus
