Condolences to Marvin's family. I worked with him at C & P; we went way back to storeroom days. He was a great friend a worker and hilarious to be around. He is a real loss.

  Marvin was my supervisor, when I was a clerk at C&P, in 1973. Though it was only for a short while, I never forgot him, as he was a pretty funny guy. To the Mitchell family, my husband and I are saddened to hear of Marvin's passing. God bless your family, and comfort you during this time.

Arlene and Family,
So very sorry to hear of Marvin's passing.
Many years ago we worked together at C & P on 39th Street.
We had some great times and many laughs as young guys just starting out in the C & P family.

God Bless,

So sorry to read about the passing of Marvin. Just by reading the obit brought memories of our teenage years playing sports at the rec center. Marvin was a great friend.
My prayers are certainly with Marvin's family during this difficult time.

Sincerely

~ Jim Tomlin, Aiken, South Carolina

Nearer, My God, to Thee

Words by Sarah Flower Adams (22 Feb 1805 - 14 Aug 1848), based loosely on Genesis 28:11–19,[1], 1841
Music (Bethany) by
Lowell Mason (08 Jan 1792 – 11 Aug 1872), 1856

Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
