WILLIAMSBURG - On Thursday, March 6, 2014, our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Jeanne W. King, went home to be with her Father in Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer. A native of Portsmouth, Va., she was a Williamsburg resident for 16 years where she taught as a teacher in the Williamsburg/James City County School Systems. A woman of devout faith, Jeanne attended Wellspring United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Old Dominion University where she earned Masters Degrees in Education and Business. Jeanne had a passion for assisting special needs students with vocational and work force skills and worked as an adjunct faculty member at the College of William and Mary where she focused on teaching work force skills to adults with special needs. She was also an active sponsor of numerous clubs and activities including FBLA and Key Club. |

invested so much in her students. She touched the lives of so many young
people in her many years of teaching. March 10, 2014 Jeanne was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her wisdom, kindness and compassion were evident from the first day I met her. Servant of God, Well Done!
Words by Charles Wesley (28 Dec 1707 - 29 Mar 1788)
(The Methodist Hymnal, 1966, #288)
Wesley wrote this hymn in 1770 on
the occasion of the death of clergyman George White.
Elvey's tune, "Diademata", has been set to several other hymns, notably "Crown
Him with Many Thorns" and "Soldiers of Christ, Arise".
Servant of God, well done!
Thy glorious warfare’s past;
The battle’s fought, the race is won,
And thou art crowned at last.
With saints enthroned on high,
Thou dost thy Lord proclaim,
And still to God salvation cry,
Salvation to the Lamb!
O happy, happy soul!
In ecstasies of praise,
Long as eternal ages roll,
Thou seest Thy Savior’s face.
Redeemed from earth and pain,
Ah! when shall we ascend,
And all in Jesus’ presence reign
With our translated friend?
