Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
There
is more sad news this early Saturday morning.
Wade
Barlow, Class of about 1950,
passed away in
Yorktown on Wednesday,
March 4, 2009 at the age of 76.

YORKTOWN - Douglas Wade Barlow,
76, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2009. Wade was a native of Newport News and graduated from Newport News High School. He moved to the Northern Virginia area where he taught ballroom dancing with Arthur Murray studios for over 20 years. He moved back to Yorktown in 1985. Wade was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elma Barlow; and a brother, Robert James Barlow. He is survived by a sister, Winfred Barlow Bragg of Yorktown; and four nieces, Carol Williams, Alice Smith, Ruth Avery and Jamie Cunningham. |

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the chapel of Amory Funeral Home, Grafton with the Rev. John Huelskoetter officiating. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all who attended to Wade in his time of need, especially to Home Helpers owners and staff. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association/Tidewater, 6325 N. Center Drive, Suite 110, Norfolk, VA 23502.
