I WAS SO SORRY TO READ OF
BONNIE'S DEATH. I GRADUATED IN THE SAME CLASS (1950), AS BONNIE AND THE
LAST TIME I SAW HER WAS A FEW YEARS AGO AT ONE OF OUR REUNIONS. SHE WAS A
VERY SWEET GIRL AND I AM SURE GOD WELCOMED HER WITH OPEN ARMS. I OFFER MY
CONDOLENCES TO ALL OF HER FAMILY IN THIS TIME OF SORROW.

From Tom Norris (Hampton HS - '73) of VA - 02/28/09:
Carol ...
Bonnie Greene Sparrow was the aunt of
Becky Crenshaw (Head Cheerleader
HHS-69), a former girlfriend of mine, and her sister, Anne Greene Crenshaw
(NNHS-46) was a schoolmate of Howard Hodnett's ('45). The family owned Greene
Furniture Company on Washington Avenue, and Anne
(Becky's mom) was the daughter in law of James Crenshaw, County Supervisor of
the Wythe District of Elizabeth City County for many years and the first mayor
of the consolidated City of Hampton from 1952 through 1955.
Small world ...
Tom
I noticed those connections
(well, most of them, anyway) as I was preparing this Newsletter, Tom. My
sincerest sympathies on the loss of your friend; she appears to have been a very
vibrant woman.
Y'all take good care of each other! TYPHOONS FOREVER! We'll Always Have Buckroe!
Love to all, Carol

Morning Has Broken
Words: Eleanor
Farjeon
Music: Traditional Gaelic
1. Morning has broken like the
first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!
2. Sweet the rain's new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.
3. Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation; praise ev'ry morning,
God's recreation of the new day!
