BONUS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiI42aZ5F40 - Heatwave, 1976
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Always_and_Forever_%28Heatwave_song%29:
"Always and Forever" is a
R&B song written by
Rod Temperton
and first recorded by the British-based multinational
funk-disco
band
Heatwave in 1976. Released as a single in 1977, the song is
included on Heatwave's debut album
Too Hot to Handle and has been
covered by numerous artists. After the international success of Heatwave's debut single, the disco song "Boogie Nights", "Always and Forever" was chosen as the U.S. follow-up single in late 1977. A ballad featuring lead vocals by Johnnie Wilder, Jr., "Always and Forever" stood out among the band's predominantly disco repertoire and became a successful U.S. hit song in early 1978. It reached #18 on the Billboard Hot 100 in March of that year after peaking at #2 on the Billboard R&B chart, the band's highest showing on that tally. The single was certified platinum by the RIAA.[1] In the UK, the songs "Too Hot to Handle" and "The Groove Line" were released before a double A-sided "Always and Forever" / "Mind Blowing Decisions" was issued in November 1978. This became the band's second top ten on the UK Singles Chart when it spent two weeks at #9 in December of that year. In the late 1970s through the 1980s it was a popular "slow dance" song at high school proms, particularly in inner-city areas with a high minority population... |

From Joyce Lawrence Cahoon ('65) of
VA
- 02/25/11 - "Money Bags":
2011 Fair warning................ This year's July has 5 Fridays 5 Saturdays and 5 Sundays. This apparently happens once every 823 years. This is called money bags. So send this on and money will arrive in 5 days. Based on Chinese feng shui the one who does not pass this on will have money troubles for the rest of the year... Don't want it to be me!!!!! Hmmm. We ran this a few weeks ago, as well as a few months before that, and a couple of the National Smart People in our midst pointed out that this situation actually arises much more frequently than that, as this post on snopes.com attests: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/trivia/fivedays.asp But, HEY, I certainly do not want to tamper with Chinese Feng Shui, so let's not bother ourselves with trivial details, and just keep those money bags rolling!
WILD GIGGLES!
Thanks so much, Joyce!

Words and Music by Rod Temperton (b. 15 Oct 1947)

Always and forever,
Each moment with you
Is just like a dream to me, That somehow came true
And I know tomorrow, Will still be the same
'Cause we've got a life of love, That won't ever change and..
Every day Love me your own special way
Melt all my heart away, With a smile
Take time to tell me, You really care
And we'll share tomorrow together
I'll always love you Forever
There'll always be sunshine, When I look at you
It's something I can't explain, Just the things that you do
And if you get lonely, Phone me and take
A second to give to me, That magic you make and..
Every day, Love me your own special way
Melt all my heart away, With a smile
Take time to tell me, You really care
And we'll share tomorrow together
I'll always love you, Forever
