Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
There
is more sad news this morning.
Joe Schuszler, Class of 1967,
brother of Anna Schuszler Styron of GA; Anton Schuszler of VA; Alpha
Schuszler of VA; Maggie Schuszler Strawsnyder ('68) of VA; Marie Schuszler of
VA; Martina Schuszler Mays of VA, Juli Schuszler Semanski of VA; and of the
late James Schuszler
(29 July 1945 - 30 Jan 2004), passed away in Davenport, Iowa on Friday,
February 20, 2009 at the age of 59.

DAVENPORT, IOWA - Joseph
Schuszler, 59, of Davenport, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2009, in Davenport. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009, at The Runge Mortuary. Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded. Joe was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Newport News, Va., the fifth of nine children born to Anton and Rosemary (Lamphier) Schuszler. He attended Newport News High School and then graduated from Scott Community College and Teikyo Marycrest University, receiving his Bachelor of Arts Degree. Joe was united in marriage to Laurie Pitman on June 17, 1978, in Davenport. He was currently a Sales Manager for Fanth Curry Home Improvement Company. |

Joe enjoyed working with wood and
weaving Nantucket baskets. He received his airplane pilot's license and
enjoyed boating, motorcycling, snowmobiling, water and snow skiing, golfing,
music and traveling.
Those left to honor his memory
include his wife of 30 years, Laurie, Davenport; sister, Anna Styron,
Woodstock, Ga.; brother, Anton (Linda) Schuszler II, Yorktown, Va.; sisters,
Alpha Schuszler, Hampton, Va., Magdalene S. (William) Strawsnyder, Hampton,
Va., Marie Schuszler, Williamsburg, Va., Martina S. (Bruce) Mays, Juli
S.(Joseph) Semanski, all of Gloucester, Va.; sisters-in-law, Cindy (Bill)
Stinocher of Davenport, Iowa, Lisa (Ross) Hunwardsen, Fairmont, Minn., Amy
(Todd) Arvanis of Waukee, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews, including
Viktor Mays who had lived with Joe and Laurie for 1 � years, all of whom Joe
loved dearly; special family friend, Amber McKinley Smith who had also
resided with Joe and Laurie, and many coworkers, neighbors and close friends
that were dear to his heart. |
