My friend Gayle and I met Sara at Curves years ago, and were so inspired by her positive outlook on life. No matter what, she always had time to ask us about how we were doing. To Sara's family... words cannot say how sorry I am for your loss. May she rest in peace.

I fell short in getting my message to you as soon as I heard the news things had made a turn for the worse. I can only say what a beautiful soul and an amazing woman you were. You had the most amazing smile and I am blessed to have met you and had a friendship with you over the years. I am so sorry for your family and friends loss. The world doesn't shine as bright as it did this morning. I hope you have found your peace and are rocking some dance moves and smiling the whole time in heaven upon us. Thank you Sara for your brilliance and strength and courage through your fight. I am truly saddened by your loss. Your family is amazing in their creation of you....a true angel you are. Today Heaven was brighter as you graced the "gates"!!!

Sara,
You were an amazing friend and co-worker for many years. No matter what obstacle or situation that you encountered, you always pushed forward. God has one more angel, and I'm sure we will meet again. Rest easy, Sara, and my prayers are with your family.

I remember Sara as a young lady. I remember her asking me about the fire service and if I thought she would like it. I knew without a doubt she would fit right in. I told her of the brotherhood and family she would come to know. What I didn't consider is just how many lives she would touch. To Beth, David, Landon, Uncle Connie, and Aunt Linda; I can't begin to understand the measure of your grief. I am honored, however, to have been perhaps a small influence in encouraging Sara to explore the possibilities of public service. I pray that God will comfort and sustain each of you during this most difficult time. I love you all.

Praying for the family. So sorry for the loss of Sara; however, Heaven is a little sweeter now. Sara was always so nice and fun to be around. Had lost touch with her through the years but kept up with her health issues through the news. Prayers were made and now they have been answered. She is home sweet home! Please keep smiling; God is not finished yet!

Sara, your Strength and Valor... service, and your God given passion for the game will be forever missed. "He has made everything beautiful in it's time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end." Ecc. 3:11

I had the privilege of working with Sara in Norfolk Fire-Rescue. She was a committed, involved member of the fire service, always willing to pitch in and help in any way she could. Many citizen's lives were made easier by the kind and caring way she responded to their emergencies. Her courageous, tenacious, determined approach to her illness has been an inspiration to so many. Her ready smile is continuing to light the way toward a cure. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Marcia Hawkins, Norfolk-Fire Rescue Assistant Fire Chief, Retired.

I meet Sara some years back and worked with her in marketing and advertising her Curves. She was wonderful to deal with. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious. May she have eternal rest. I pray for her family and closest of friends peace.

I met Sara years ago while working a American Medical Response. She was one of the nicest folks you'd ever want to meet - not just as a co worker, but as a person. The last time I saw her was about 10 years ago. She was with the Norfolk Fire Dept honor guard, doing an event in Richmond. I know she had a long couragageous battle with cancer. Now, she is healed. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family.

I met Sara years ago at Curves and her positive outlook on life and mostly health were inspiring. I remember when her niece was born and all the pictures around the gym she put up and how excited she was about having her in her life. Sara's optimism and energy will be carried on by so many.

There's a sweet sweet spirit in this place
And I know that it's the spirit of the Lord

There are sweet expressions on each face
And I know they feel the presence of the Lord

Sweet Holy Spirit
Sweet heavenly dove
Stay right here with us
Filling us with your love
And for these blessings
We lift our hearts in praise (hearts in praise)
Without a doubt we'll know that we have been revived
When we shall leave this place
