Dear Friends and Schoolmates, 

   I came upon this information unexpectedly as I was preparing her brother Roy's Memorial Edition, so there is more sad if quite belated news today.    Charlotte Fox Heath, Class of 1959, passed away in Hampton on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at the age of 72.

   Roy and Charlotte were preceded in death by their brothers, James Fox (@ '43) (d. 01 Mar 2003) and Joe Fox. Their sister, Goldie Fox Williamson of VA, survives.

HAMPTON - Charlotte Louise Fox Heath, 72, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014.

She was born to the late James Herbert (Sr.) and Mary Fox in Newport News on April 5, 1941.

Mrs. Heath was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She retired after 28 years of civilian service from Langley Air Force Base with the First Fighter Wing.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Roy Heath; two children, Jim Heath and Kim Lee and her husband, Rich, all of Hampton; two grandchildren, Lindsey and Heath; one sister, Goldie Williamson of Newport News; and a brother, Roy Fox of Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, James “Dickie” Herbert Fox and Joseph Fox.
 

 
 
 
 


The family would like to thank the staff of The Gardens at Warwick Forest for their care and compassion during her care.

A memorial service will be held at 3 PM Friday, January 31, 2014 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home with Chaplain Will Lowrance officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.

Roy, Jimmy, Kim and family, I am so very sorry to hear about Charlotte. I have such good memories of your family when you all lived next door to my family. I particularly remember sweet Charlotte and how she was a devoted wife and mother. She is now singing with wings and finally healthy and at peace. I pray that you all gain much peace by knowing she is no longer suffering. God Bless you all.

Jim and Roy,
I know that this has been a long and deeply trying time for the two of you. This week I have found myself thinking of you often, reminding me of how it feels to lose someone you love deeply. I wish I had comforting words that would help ease you pain. I found that knowing people cared helped.

After 5 years I still think of my wife everyday, just as the two of you will do. For the longest time it was painful, but now I mostly remember the wonderful times and how lucky I was to have had her for 35 years. I hope the day comes soon that you will be able to think of Charlotte without hurting.
