From Bill Black ('66) of GA - 02/12/10 - "Winter Snowstorm Strikes LaGrange":

When the first flakes started falling here in LaFreakin'Grange, I rushed up the hill to the historic Callaway family home and started snapping photos to send to 11Alive, FOX5, CBS46 and Action News2 in Atlanta.  Ever the careful marketer, I took four different angles, so no one got the same photo, and everybody thinks they got an exclusive...
After the third ruin up the hill, I decided to use the tripod, set the timer, so all of you can see the snow.  Knowing of course that C'ville has already had fifty-five inches for the year, Richmond just a little less, and you folks further north and west are used to getting that much every month.  Am I right?   Yeah, I thought so.
So, everybody, check the enlargement of me in the picture. Here's what two inches looks like!

Oh. Ha-ha And I call myself a writer!

Here's what two inches of snow looks like.

GIGGLES! Bill, you are SOOOO baaad!

Thanks so much, Norris - I totally agree!

From Joyce Lawrence Cahoon ('65) of VA - 02/12/10 - "YOU KNOW YOU ARE LIVING IN 2010 when... ":

You accidentally enter your password on the microwave.

You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3.

You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

Every commercial on television has a web site at the bottom of the screen.

Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

You get up in the morning and go on line before getting your coffee.

You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message.

You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list.

You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

Go on, forward this to your friends. You know you want to.

   WILD GIGGLES! Thanks, Joyce!

  From Mike White ('67) of VA - 02/03/10 - "Seniors (#9 in a Series of 19)":

For anyone age appropriate…that means almost everyone
in the Typhoon Nation !

Someone had to remind me, so I'm reminding you too.

Don't is all true...these are the perks of reaching 60 and heading towards 70 and older!

   Thanks, Mike!

From ArcaMax Jokes - 02/12/10:

State Capitals

Well, there was this blonde who just got sick and tired of all the blonde jokes. So one evening she went home and memorized all the state capitals.

Back in the office the next day, some guy started telling a dumb blonde joke. She interrupted him with a shrill announcement,

"I've had it up to here with these blonde jokes. I want you to know that this blonde went home last night and did something probably none of you could do...I memorized all the state capitals."

One of the guys, of course, said "I don't believe you. What is the capital of Nevada?"

"N", she answered.

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Now I don't mean to bother you but I'm in a mess
There's danger of me losing all of my happiness
For I love a girl who doesn't know I exist
And this you can fix

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid with your arrow make a love storm for me
I promise I will lover her until eternity
I know between the two of us her heart we can steal
Help me if you will

Cupid draw back your bow
And let your arrow go
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid please hear my cry
And let your arrow fly
Straight to my lover's heart for me

Cupid, don't you hear me
Calling you
I need you
Help me
