NEWPORT NEWS - "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I
have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
Marvin Glenn ("Bill") Adams, 88, passed away at the home he loved on February 7, 2014, surrounded by his family. He was born in Norlina, North Carolina, on July 25, 1925. He was one of twelve children born to George and Bettie Adams. His early years were spent working on the farm with his father and siblings, which led to his great love of gardening for many years. He enjoyed watching his bountiful garden thrive and loved even more sharing it with his family and friends. In 1944, he moved to Newport News. He retired after 37 years of Government service, primarily at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Left to treasure his memory are his devoted wife of 66 years, Arnette Howell Adams; their children, Dianne Puckette (Larry), Marvin Adams, Jr., and Mark Adams; and his grandchildren, Jeff Puckette, Jennifer Turnage (Michael) and Caleb Adams. He was a great-grandfather to Hunter and Hannah Turnage. |

February 09, 2014 Will always miss the HUGS your father use to give on Sunday morning at church. What a special man he was. Heaven is a better place with his presence. May you have the peace only the Lord can give. ~ Carolyn and Bubba Goss, Chesapeake, Virginia

When the Roll Is Called
Up Yonder
Lyrics and Music by James Milton Black (19 Aug 1856 - 21 Dec
1938), 1893
1. When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound and time shall be no more
And the morning breaks eternal, bright and fair
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there!
2. On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise
And the glory of His resurrection share
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there!
3. Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done
And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there!
Chorus:
When the roll, is called up yonder,
When the roll, is called up yonder,
When the roll, is called up yonder
When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there!
