Jeb is, of course, my favorite hero, and has been so since the year we spent living in Richmond, from August of 1984 to August of 1985. He seemed to follow me around the city. Everywhere I went, there he was. That was when I read Burke Davis' The Last Cavalier, and began to understand why.

We used to regularly visit his grave at Hollywood Cemetery - at least once a month. We'd take flowers or tiny Confederate flags to place on his grave, only to find them gone upon our return a week or two later.
I looked online for quite some time before locating a good image of the stone which lies at the feet of Jeb and his beloved Flora (Cooke Stuart - 8 Jan 1836 - 10 May 1928). At that time, my camera was one of those little disc jobs, and the quality of my image is quite poor.
While was searching, I found this touching painting of the Stuart's, and thought I'd share it with y'all

NEWS FLASHES:
1.
From Dee Hodges Bartram ('66) of VA - 01/23/07 - "NNHS February Fling":
I have reserved Angelo's Restaurant on J. Clyde Morris Boulevard for February 24 from 6-10 p.m. for a get together of all classes. It will be completely casual. Just come in for some dinner or just to say hi. All I ask is that you let me know if you are coming so I can have an accurate count so Angelo can decide if he needs more waitresses that night.
Please pass this on to any class alumni and ask them to contact me if they would like to come. They can either e-mail me or call me at 868-8443.
Please, also tell them that if the weather is bad to call Angelo's at 599-5727 to make sure the dinner is still on.
Thanks and I hope to see you there!!
Dee Hodges Bartram
This is such a thrill for me to hear, Dee! Thanks so much for
arranging such an event!
