Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Incredibly, there is still more sad news this Friday.
Carol Kirk Ledford, Class of 1962,
passed away in
Newport News
on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the age of 71.
From Brenda Amos Williams
('62) of VA - 01/29/16:
Hi Typhoon classmates, on Saturday we lost
another of our classmates. Carol Kirk Ledford, funeral Saturday 11:00 at
Weymouth Funeral Home.
She made our last reunion and did get our memory booklet in November. That I am really happy about. She's been a friend since we were 15 years old when she was a hair dresser with her mom in downtown Newport News. I myself will miss her wit and enjoying her funny stories. Rest in peace, Carol. God bless you and your family.
Brenda, I am very sorry
to learn this. I'm so glad you posted it; I had not recognized her name.
You have my deepest sympathies on the passing of your friend.

Be Thou My Vision
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my
heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.
Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.
