“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

-  Victor Frankl, Holocaust survivor (Theresienstadt Ghetto and Auschwitz concentration camp)
(26 Mar 1905 - 02 Sept 1997)

From (the late) Norris Perry (Warwick HS - '59) - 04/29/08 (sic) - "WORLD WAR 2 PICTURES..........":

Not just Jews but Christians, ....too sad.

WORLD WAR 2 PICTURES

These photos were taken in Germany by James Emison Chanslor, an Army Master Sergeant who served in World War II from 1942 until 1945.
Source: Photos courtesy of John Michael Chanslor

It is a matter of history that when Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces, General Dwight Eisenhower, found the victims of the death camps, he ordered all possible photographs to be taken, and for the German people from surrounding villages to be ushered through the camps and even made to bury the dead.

He did this because he said in words to this effect: 'Get it all on record now - get the films - get the witnesses - because somewhere down the track of history some b *stard will get up and say that this never happened.'

'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.'
- Edmund Burke

This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it 'offended' the Muslim population
which claims it never occurred.

EDITOR'S NOTE: The above sentence is not really correct, but it does nothing to negate the reality
of the horror of these images, or the fact that there are those who make such obscene claims:

http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/holocaust.asp

This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving in to it.

It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended.

This ..... is ..... in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated with the German and Russian peoples looking the other way!

Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be 'a myth,'
it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets.

.....remember, because we cannot let it ever happen again.

Thanks To ALL Who Served And Are Serving..
Please Pray For Our Troops And Leaders.

God Bless America. Land That I love.

Thank you - again - so much, Norris Sweetie!

     From Me ('65) of NC - 01/27/16:

On a personal note, ..... I grew up with the deep conviction that while serving during WWII as the Regimental Surgeon for the 116th Infantry of the 29th Division,       my daddy, the late Robert Buckley (John Marshall HS - '25) (19 Oct 1907 - 25 Apr 1960), was present at the liberation of at least one of the infamous Nazi concentration camps.

He would never actually admit it, but he was in the right place at the right time, and it would stand to reason that he should have been there. Moreover, on more than one occasion he related in great detail a delousing scene of woman prisoners (he called them "refugees") which I later viewed in a documentary exactly as he had described. Most telling to me, however, was the way he never missed an opportunity to show me, a young child, very graphic images of the camps as they appeared in magazines and on television. Considering the great care he had taken to protect me from other evils of the world, his heroic efforts that I should never forget speak volumes to me, even today.

This year I finally learned the identity of that camp. It was Dinslaken, a civilian labor camp. The date was 03 Apr 1945.

   Thank you, Daddy.

Heaven in a bowl."

It's the absolute best when you've got the flu, and it's great the second and third day. Note, these matzoh balls are 'sinkers'. These are traditional matzoh balls, as this recipe was passed down from my great-grandmother who needed to make them as heavy as possible to feed a hungry family during lean times. Cut the matzoh meal by 1/2 cup to lighten the load."

FINALLY:
From http://www.ajokeaday.com - 01/26/16:

A young man was sitting in his office on the thirteenth floor, when someone came by and shouted: “Laloo, your daughter Sweety is badly injured in accident!"

Not knowing what to do, the young man jumped out of his office window in a panic.

While coming down when he was at tenth floor, he remembered he had no daughter named Sweety.

When he was near the fifth floor he remembered he was not married.

When he was about to hit the ground he remembered he was not Laloo.
