Hit # 102,000 was made sometime on Friday, January 21, 2011 while I was taking a nap, so once again, I missed it completely.

January 21, 1868 - Mississippi rejected the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.

January 21, 1968 - Dedication of the restored Ford's Theater

From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 01/20/11 - "Did you know???":

National Hug Day or National Hugging Day is an annual holiday occurring on January 21, officially recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The holiday was founded on January 21, 1986 in Caro, Michigan, and has since spread to Canada, England, Australia, Germany, Poland and other countries.....

No, I did NOT know! Thank you so much, Shari!

From My Grandson, Jacob Harty, of TX - 01/20/11 - "Lord of the Monty Rings":

I thought it would be funny to make the The Black Knight say Gandalf 's line, so I made it.

   WILD GIGGLES! Thanks, Jacob!

Say, I have a great idea! Your PhotoShopping skills far outweigh mine. Why don't you come up here and take over that aspect for me? I'm "a bit" behind.....

From My #2 Daughter-in-Law, Bethany (Winona Harty (Siuslaw HS, OR - '94) of TX - 01/20/11 - "Nerds R Us":

... I did some Facebook time.

And my friend had this on her status:

WARNING! Facebook now automatically scans your brain through your monitor. To BLOCK, go to your kitchen cabinet and remove the box of aluminum foil. Wrap foil around your head, stay calm & breathe through your left nostril. This is a serious problem & has been confirmed by my cousin's girlfriend's neighbor's son's baby's mama and her pet Chihuahua. Copy and paste as your status! SAVE YOUR FRIENDS

Which, I, of course, thought was HILARIOUS! So I ran to the cupboard, grabbed the tin foil, wrapped it around my head, grabbed my laptop, and snapped a picture. Yeah, I know, I'm a nerd. And proud of it! Nerds Unite, right!?!

Bethany, you goofbutton! I was trying to be as quiet as a little mouse and I saw this and started laughing out loud!

Thanks for the big giggle fits, Lady!

And actually on correct time.

Donít miss the human clock. Fantastic!

Click anywhere in the clock and it becomes digital, another click and it returns to normal.

From My Husband, Paul Harty (Bardolph HS, IL - '61) of IL - 01/20/11 - "This is just weird . . .":

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates.... 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 .... NOW go figure this out.... take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the age you will be this year and it WILL EQUAL TO 111.
Crazy huh?

AHA! Another weird math situation - and still over my head! Thanks again, Dools!

From Ruth Ann Reece Horace ('67) of FL - 01/15/11 - "CAN'T FIX STUPID" (#5 in a Series of 10):

[From the Richmond Dispatch, March 19, 1893.]
Dan Emmett its Author and New York the Place of Its Production.

I wish I was in the land of cotton,
old times there are not forgotten,
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie land.
In Dixie land where I was born in, early on a frosty mornin',
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie land.

Then I wish I was in Dixie, hooray! Hooray!
In Dixie land I'll take my stand, to live and die in Dixie,
Away, away, away down south in Dixie,
Away, away, away down south in Dixie.

Old Missus marry Will de Weaber, Will-yum was a gay deceaber,
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie land.
But when he put his arm around her,
smiled as fierce as a forty pounder.
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie land. (Chorus)

Dars buckwheat cakes an' ingen batter, makes you fat or a little fatter,
Look away, look away, look away, Dixie land.
Den hoe it down and scratch your grabble to Dixie's land
I'm bound to travel,
Look away, look away, look away Dixie land. (Chorus)
