Hi Carol.

I wanted to let you know I am in room #800 at Penrose Hospital now for rehab.  Thus far I am doing very well although I was pretty much out of it from Friday up to Tuesday.  I want to thank all our Typhoon Nation for all the prayers!  I truly believe those prayers are what has brought me thru this and will forever be thankful.  They amputated mid thigh.

Will start rehab this morning for preparation for going home for home care.

I will keep you updated as best I can and please keep the prayers coming.

God bless all of you.

It's so good to hear from you, Butch! As you can tell, you have had some mighty prayers on your behalf from our Typhoon Prayer Warriors! We continue to pray for your renewed strength and speedy recovery!

Fun times, right?   On your mark, get set, GO! -       From Dimples Dinwiddie Prichard ('58) of NC - 01/14/13

   WOWZERONI! Thanks, Dimples!

From Ed Nichols ('62) of Northern VA - 01/16/13, 3:55 PM:

Praying Paul is better and hope you are holding up as well. Happy New Year.

Thank you so very much, Eddie Darlin'! Paul is feeling considerably better (most of the time), but was ordered on total bed rest for at least one week and possibly two until he sees the specialist again on February 7. He's trying to be a good patient, and I'm trying to be a good nurse, but it's pretty much a total role reversal for us, as he generally spoils me outrageously. A scary setback last night caused me finally to break down, but he is greatly improved today, and so am I!

A teacher sees a lad entering the classroom – his hands were dirty.

Smiling the boy replied, “I think I’d be too polite to mention it.”

Philadelphia Freedom

Written by
Elton John (b. 25 Mar 1947)

Bernie Taupin (b. 22 May 1950), 1975

I used to be a rolling stone
You know if the cause was right
I'd leave to find the answer on the road
I used to be a heart beating for someone
But the times have changed
The less I say the more my work gets done

`Cause I live and breathe this Philadelphia freedom
From the day that I was born I've waved the flag
Philadelphia freedom took me knee-high to a man
Yeah gave me peace of mind my daddy never had

Oh Philadelphia freedom shine on me, I love you
Shine a light through the eyes of the ones left behind
Shine a light shine a light
Shine a light won't you shine a light
Philadelphia freedom I love you, yes I do

If you choose to you can live your life alone
Some people choose the city
Some others choose the good old family home
I like living easy without family ties
Till the whippoorwill of freedom zapped me
Right between the eyes
