Martin Luther King's 87th Birthday

“We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power
to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil
in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies.

- Martin Luther King, Jr.
(15 Jan 1929 - 04 Apr 1968)

“The Son of God perfectly knows and understands, for He felt and bore our burdens before we ever did. And because He paid the ultimate price and bore that burden, He has perfect empathy and can extend to us His arm of mercy in so many phases of our life. He can reach out, touch, succor—literally run to us—and strengthen us to be more than we could ever be and help us to do that which we could never do through relying upon only our own power.”

“I've knitted myself a hat, it's plum red with an appealing lace pattern, I figured that a few air holes would be nice now that it's spring. I put it on and feel like a cranberry in the snow, and I wonder if they can see me from the moon. Me and the Great Wall.”

FINALLY:
From http://www.ajokeaday.com - 01/14/16:

A young man excitedly told his mother he’d fallen in love and that he's planning to get married.

He said, “Just for fun, Ma, I’m going to bring over 3 girls and you try and guess which one I’m going to marry.”

The mother agreed.

The next day, he brought three women into the house and sat them down on the couch and they chatted for a while. He then said, “Okay Ma, guess which one I’m going to marry.”

She immediately replied, “The one on the right.”

“That’s amazing, Ma. You’re right. How did you know?”

The mother replied, “I don’t like her."

We Shall Overcome

Lyrics derived from Charles Tindley's gospel song "I'll Overcome Some Day" (1900), and opening and closing melody
from the 19th-century spiritual "No More Auction Block for Me" (a song that dates to before the Civil War). According
to Professor Donnell King of Pellissippi State Technical Community College (in Knoxville, Tenn.), "We Shall Overcome"
was adapted from these gospel songs by "Guy Carawan, Candy Carawan, and a couple of other people associated
with the Highlander Research and Education Center, currently located near Knoxville, Tennessee. I have in my possession
copies of the lyrics that include a brief history of the song, and a notation that royalties from the song go to support the Highlander Center."

I do believe
We shall overcome some day

CHORUS:

We'll walk hand in hand
We'll walk hand in hand
We'll walk hand in hand some day

We shall all be free
We shall all be free
We shall all be free some day

We are not afraid
We are not afraid
We are not afraid some day

We are not alone
We are not alone
We are not alone some day

The whole wide world around
The whole wide world around
The whole wide world around some day

We shall overcome
We shall overcome
We shall overcome some day
