He graduated from Newport News High and the Apprentice School - and then secured his mechanical engineering degree from his beloved Virginia Tech. His college studies were interrupted by WWII - where he proudly served as a Captain in the 100th Infantry - earning Bronze Stars for valor - and 2 Purple Hearts.

While at Tech, he married Marjorie Hatfield, who preceded him in death after 45 years of marriage in 1988. He married another wonderful woman, Madaline Miller in 1994, who passed away in 2012.

Also preceding him in death were his brother, Otho and sister, Josephine Kyle, and father, Elmer, and mother, Eleanor.

Surviving are his daughter, Jo Anne Dorneman (Ross), grandchildren, Jeff Dorneman (Elizabeth) and Julie Batt (Robert); and 5 great grandchildren - all from Richmond; 2 step children, Al Miller (Jan) and Lynn Ellmore from Hampton and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at 12:30 pm on Monday, January 13, with reception to follow at Hilton Christian Church, 100 James River Drive, Newport News 23601 - where Rouzee was a charter member and Deacon Emeritus.
