Betty Marie New Nicol
(1930 - 3 Jan 2006)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

We have yet another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter today.

From Alex Nicol (Feb., '49) of VA - 01/23/06 - "Passed":

Hi Carol,

My wife Betty Nicol (Betty Marie New) passed Jan 03-2006 in Newport News. Betty used to work at NNHS (1950) in the adult education office. Betty had graduated from Whitestone HS in 1948 and came to Newport News in 1949 to stay with her aunt and uncle in Newport News. Our  daughter, Sandra Nicol, now Sandra N. Smith, living in Hampton, VA) graduated from NNHS in 1970. I of course graduated way back in Feb 1949 from NNHS.

           Yours truly,
              Alex  Nicol

P.S. I really like your newsletter, and even if I am a few years older than those in the !965 graduating class, I remember well all the places, etc. you all speak of. I had lived in Stuart Gardens and later on Blair Avenue.

Oh, Alex!  I am so sorry that I missed seeing this - and of course, I'm so deeply sorry for your loss!  Please accept my sincerest condolences, even if they are belated.
